Magic NZ Swimming Academy conducts a high quality Learn-to-Swim and Squad programme at Saint Kentigern School for Boys and Saint Kentigern School for Girls – Corran, which is central to the Remuera area.

We work extremely closely with the schools and with the Saint Kentigern families to achieve a high standard in swimming.  Students, friends and family members of the Saint Kentigern community are our priority. Please be sure to register your interest today for Term 4, 2011 to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited.

Preschool (New Programme)

Saint Kentigern School and Magic NZ Swimming Academy are proud to offer and introduce to the children of Saint Kentigern Preschool the opportunity to participate in Learn-to-Swim classes at Saint Kentigern School for Girls - Corran during the hours of the current preschool programme. 

Magic NZ’s programme offers a unique building block approach to swimming where swimmers are introduced to skills in line with their own individual personal development. Our classes are skill focused with a water-safety component to each lesson.

It is critical at this young age that swimmers are introduced to foundation skills and activities that will prepare them for lifelong safety and enjoyment in, on and around the water. These foundation skills focus on getting swimmers comfortable in good body positions in the water, and developing a strong kick. If every swimmer starting school at Saint Kentigern is comfortable floating, gliding, turning independently in the water and propelling themselves with their legs we can be confident in the long term future for swimming and safety at Saint Kentigern.

Our preschool classes have 4 levels, and duration of 25 minutes. Our lessons are skill focused with 4 goals for progression for each level.

Learn-to-Swim

The Learn-to-Swim programme provides students with a “back to basic” learn-to-swim approach with a team of qualified Instructors to ensure the highest level of programme is delivered.

Lessons commence Term 4 and are conducted at Saint Kentigern School for Girls  – Corran (514 Remuera Road, Remuera), Monday to Friday from 3pm to 5pm, and Saturday morning (subject to numbers).

Squads

These sessions will be managed by Kurt Dell and his team of coaches. Kurt is an old boy of Saint Kentigern School and a past school’s swimming champion. Kurt is currently Head Swimming Coach at Dilworth School and has been coaching competitive swimmers for the past three years with great results at Junior and Age Group levels for Roskill Magic Swim Club (the competitive subsidiary of Magic NZ Swimming Academy).

Saint Kentigern School for Boys

Tuesdays: 3.30pm – 4.30pm, 4.30pm - 5.30pm
Thursdays: 3.30pm – 4.30pm, 4.30pm - 5.30pm

Saturday: (subject to numbers, at Saint Kentigern School for Girls - Corran)

Private Lessons

Are also available upon request at Saint Kentigern School for Boys and Saint Kentigern School for Girls - Corran and a number of locations Auckland wide.
